Miss Ellaneous is a night started in 2023 by Charlie Wood and Frankie Thompson. It began after a discussion about how they both felt they were making work that didn’t easily fit into a definable category of performance. The natural solution was to create an event for misfits and artists who defy the boundaries of drag/comedy/live art/spoken word/clowning etc etc and Miss Ellaneous, who for some reason took the form of a lobster prom queen, was born.
Since it’s early days at VFD in London Miss E has had shows on a bus, on a boat, the Yard Theatre, Wilderness Festival and many more featuring the best and strangest of the London performance scene and has been described as a “Special, healing, hilarious, bizarre night”.
Be Gay, Boycott Eurovision
In 2024 and 2025 Miss E joined forces with iconic London drag/queer nights Drag Down the Borders and Panic at the Drag Show along with Queer House Party (2024) and Bledi Party (2025) to put on a massive queer performance night on the date of the Eurovision Final to provide an alternative pro Palestinian event and fundraiser for those wanting to Boycott Eurovision’s inclusion of Israel. Both years featured speakers from groups including Queers for Palestine, Fossil Free Pride as well as dozens of performers and DJs. Both nights raised thousands for the PCRF, Operation Olive Branch and many other individual fundraisers and charities fighting for the rights and well being of the Palestinian people.
